Confirm the Container Before Customization
A reliable candle jar project begins with the correct container specification. Color, logo and packaging should be developed only after the material, capacity, dimensions, opening and lid requirements have been confirmed.
Glavique Candleware manufactures glass candle jars at our Xuzhou facility. Selected tin and ceramic candle jars are supplied through long-term partner factories and managed by Glavique for specification confirmation, sampling, quality inspection, packing and export coordination.
This page covers empty candle containers. Final compatibility between the jar, wax, fragrance, wick and burning system should be tested by the candle manufacturer or filling company before commercial production.
Available Jar Materials
Glass is our core in-house material and is suitable for clear, amber, frosted, matte, coated and decorated candle jar programs. Buyers can select an existing mold for a faster sampling route or submit specifications for new mold evaluation.
Tin candle jars are commonly considered for travel candles, promotional collections and gift sets. Important details include metal thickness, container diameter, height, lid structure, edge condition, printing method and inner surface requirements.
Selected ceramic candle jars can support projects requiring glazed colors, textured surfaces or heavier vessel formats. Ceramic size, glaze and shape tolerances must be assessed differently from glass specifications.
Material selection should reflect the intended appearance, filling process, shipment method, order quantity and target packaging—not appearance alone.
Capacity, Dimensions and Opening
“Capacity” can refer to total water capacity or the buyer’s intended wax filling volume. These figures are not always the same. To avoid an incorrect jar recommendation, buyers should provide the target filling volume and any required headspace.
A complete jar specification normally includes:
- Total height
- Outside diameter
- Opening diameter
- Bottom diameter
- Nominal or maximum capacity
- Intended filling volume
- Approximate jar weight
- Wall and base structure
- Preferred lid type
Measurements should be taken from a physical sample or controlled drawing. Product photographs without dimensions are useful for style reference but are not sufficient for accurate quotation or lid matching.
Projects requiring dimensions outside our existing range can proceed to custom size and mold development after feasibility review.
Lid and Accessory Compatibility
A lid must be matched to the actual jar opening rather than selected only by its stated outside diameter. The lid’s internal diameter, sealing ring, insertion depth and fit tolerance can affect whether it feels loose, overly tight or unstable.
Available options may include wood, bamboo, metal and glass lids. Natural wood and bamboo can show normal grain and color variation, while metal and glass lids require inspection for finish, dimensions and contact points.
Jar and lid samples should be approved together. More information is available on the lids, accessories and private-label page.
How Specifications Affect MOQ and Lead Time
Standard glass jars using an existing mold usually start around 1,000–3,000 pieces. Projects involving custom colors, logos or packaging commonly start around 3,000–5,000 pieces, depending on the jar and quantity per SKU.
Existing samples normally take around 3–7 days. Customized samples generally require approximately 7–15 days. A new size or shape requires separate tooling evaluation and may extend both sampling and bulk-production schedules.
Regular production is generally around 25–35 days after sample approval. New molds, complex finishes, special lids or custom packaging may require around 35–45 days.
Information Required for Specification Review
For an accurate recommendation and quotation, provide:
- Jar material or preferred product category
- Reference photo, drawing or physical sample
- Target capacity and filling volume
- Height, diameter and opening size
- Quantity per size, color or SKU
- Preferred finish and logo
- Lid and accessory requirements
- Packaging requirements
- Destination and required delivery date
After reviewing these details, Glavique can identify a suitable existing jar or determine whether new tooling is required. The confirmed specification then becomes the basis for Custom & OEM development, sample approval, production inspection and export packing.
